Allergic

Strong north winds brought on the allergies and dried out the potted plants. But it was sunny. No complaints here.

Urban Understory

Just fair weather clouds today. Sounds like yesterday's storm may have been the last for a while. I'm ready for the sun.

Extremes

Gloomy clouds at first. Then wind and hail. Finally some sun but with temperatures that make a coat feel necessary.

Dance by the Light

Rain came down sideways because of the wind. Seems calm now and chilly. Stars are visible.

Old Sage

After a gorgeous weekend, Monday was a drag. More clouds on the horizon. Rain tomorrow.

Artemisia

Possibly my favorite plant not known for its flowers. The feathery foliage is soft to the touch. And the silvery sheen looks good in the garden.

Peony Prowler

My parade of pink blossoms continues. Lots of yard work today. And the weather was excellent.

Yellow Center

This was the best day weather-wise of the year so far. Everything's green. A light breeze and plenty of sun rounded out the perfection.

The Big 4-0 (but not mine)

Another Earth Day. Another revolution around the sun. Oh, and the sun came out from behind the clouds too.

More April showers which is really not something I'm used to. They're keeping the allergies at bay. All to the good.

Bit of Blue

Heavy rains started in the middle of the night. Finally stopped late this afternoon. Blue skies return.

And the clouds and their friend the wind are back today. We'll see if we get any rain. I'm sure the garden would benefit.

Sunday Ramble

Nearly 80 degrees but a light breeze kept it very comfortable. The last of the tulips for the year glowed in the sun. Bees were buzzing.

Basking

More wildlife, including deer, out and about today. Usually the lizards scurry away but this one just kept an eye on me. The weather is marvelous.

In a Little Patch of Shade

Jackrabbits were bounding all over this afternoon. Two of them were very young. A great blue heron was also wandering around.

Here Be Dragons

The squash plants may or may not be recovering. A few more days of warm weather may make all the difference. High clouds but still sunny on balance.

Return of the Fern

So happy to have some more sunny weather. And yet, I'm still taking pictures after night has fallen. Maybe sun and photography can meet tomorrow.

I finally got a picture, though hard to see, of the woodpecker that hangs out by my house. It's not that big. But, from the noise it makes with its tapping, you'd think it was the size of a horse.

Downpours

Wild and woolly weather around these parts. There were glimpses of sun and even a rainbow. Still pretty chilly.

Harvest

I picked the last of the lemons from my tree yesterday. Today it was cold and rainy. I wouldn't mind another sunny day.

Clouds and Wind

Spent most of the day readying the deck for spring and summer. Still need to get a few more plants. The wind drove me indoors.

Purple Puffs

You can just see the hind end of the mini bee that was burrowing in the chive flowers. Our squash plants now look ill, unfortunately. The weekend has finally arrived.

Little Beady Eyes

Another in the series of porch light photography. The poor little moth probably didn't know what hit it when the flash went off. Today's weather was the poster child for spring.

Syrphidae

The temperature made it over 70 degrees again, finally. I think our cucumber plants have croaked already. They probably didn't like the cold snap.

Regal Jumper

A pretty spider sitting in our sunny garden. It had to be pointed out to me because it's so tiny. So much for my powers of observation.

Low Sunset

It was cold again today but most (not all, obviously!) of the clouds had cleared by late afternoon. Almost an inch of rain yesterday. I hear it might be sunny tomorrow.

Proto Strawberry

Thunder, lightning, and lots of rain this evening. It took much longer than expected to arrive. A good Easter nonetheless.

Of Happiness

I love how this Western Bluebird chose a perch that sported the same colors as its plumage. The sun overcame most of the clouds and we managed to go for a walk. It was as cold as a January day.

P-P-P-Petunia

The weather finally got its act together and we had actual rain this evening. If it's going to be cloudy, I say we should have rain! Didn't last long, though.

It's grand to be gardening again. More spectacular cloud formations combined with cool temperatures today. No rain.
