Myrtle

We had a record high temperature as well as wind today. By evening the sunset was amazing. As the sky faded to black the barest sliver of a moon became visible.

Mantis Egg Case

I wonder how long until the baby mantises hatch. They're above a window so they don't blend in particularly well. Makes it easier for me.

Yes, Another Bee

And yet another species that I can't quite pin down. It was almost cool outside today. Very nice for the last day of spring.

Mine. All Mine

More wind from the north. The mercury was a little higher. The bees didn't care.

Old Fashioned

A nasty north wind blew all day. Very warm out. Grass fire season has begun.

Peony Prowler

My parade of pink blossoms continues. Lots of yard work today. And the weather was excellent.

The Orange and the Green

Marigolds have sort of an odd scent that's not altogether pleasant. I believe it was warmer again today. The sky may have been a bit bluer, though it was still quite cloudy.

Great Blue Snail

I happened upon this tiny snail as I was outside during a break in the storm. It looks shiny and new with a shell less than 1/4-inch in size. I let it go on its way.

Christmas Rose

Warm for Christmas Day and clear. Festivities commenced. Most traditional.

On the Eve

Preparations well in hand. A cold clear night. No Rudolph needed.

Bouquet

Fresh seasonal color on a foggy day. Busy (and filling) evening. Eyelids are getting heavy.

Before the Snow?

It was cold all day. We have a possibility of up to three inches of snow by tomorrow morning. That would be awesome.

Paperwhite

Stuffed to the gills and on tryptophan overload. Beautiful day. The paperwhites gleamed in the moonlight.

Green Peace

The sunset this evening was grand. I only saw it in the rear view mirror. No picture chances.

Dahlia(nce)

Warm humidity leading to dark clouds and cooler wind. Industriousness on the home front. The weekend that was.

Rose in Bloom

Bee climbed petal by petal to the heart of the rose. Then she moved on to the next bloom. Still too hot.

Aster

Or is it a mum? Very confusing. Just like the weather.

Pelargonium

They'll always be geraniums to me. And a terracotta pot of the red ones in the front yard will always be a welcoming sight. They just seem right.

Anthophora (Maybe)

The coreopsis attracts different bees throughout the season--something I'd never have noticed last year. In fact, I thought there were only a few different kinds. Silly me.

Lantana

Usually this plant is a magnet for skipper butterflies and hummingbirds. Not today. I don't care because it was totally glorious outside anyway.
